2021: A Letter from our Co-Founders

2021: A Letter from our Co-Founders

2021 was, in many ways, very similar to 2020 — the massive shift in buying online vs. in-store was only compounded by the sustained implications of the pandemic, and a further-agitated population with a growing appetite for “normalcy.”

This year our team fought many of the same battles as in 2020 (hybrid office / home working, supply chain disruptions, policy changes, etc.). However, 2021 was a vastly different year for Macarta.

So, what changed? First and foremost, our team! The Global Macarta Family grew by a whopping 21 people this calendar year — with continued growth in our Denver Headquarters, a booming Mexico Team, and the official launch of Macarta Brazil in February ’21. Macarta has also completely overhauled its global organizational chart, with leaders put in place across all departments and regions, led by: Carlos Corona, Director General, LATAM; Martina Seré, Country Manager — Mexico; Ana Amorim, Country Manager — Brazil; to name a few.

This rapid growth can only be realized, and sustained, thanks to a growing list of amazing brand partners with whom we work around the world. Macarta executes on behalf of its brand partners in the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Spain, France and Italy — with Australia, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates on the horizon.

Aside from the fact our company-wide meetings no longer fit on one (or even two) Zoom screens, Macarta grew its clientele, its service-offerings, and its voice as a thought leader in the industry. We were recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of America’s 5,000 fastest growing private companies (#1,357) and further cemented our partnership with Amazon via the official listing in Amazon’s Advertising Partner Directory. We have vetted, trialed, and ultimately partnered with what we consider best-in-class software solutions, in addition to finding creative ways to add value to our partnerships in a multitude of ways.

Speaking of company meetings and striving for normalcy — we have charged the team with a simple task this year: bring your whole self to work. With hybrid in-office / home-office workforces being the “norm” these days, we have introduced a few different ways to bring some more personal touches to our wider company interactions; from more team activities (Happy Hours / Rockies games) to shaking up the flow of our weekly all-hands meetings to foster fun interactions/engagement, we continue striving to fortify this amazing team’s culture despite not having the luxury of sitting a few feet apart from each other.

Now, what has stayed the same? Put simply: our roots.

What has made us successful over the years has been our philosophy behind Amazon success — which begins and ends with the relationships we earn with our brand partners. Great relationships are earned with a pragmatic and transparent approach to client services and working shoulder-to-shoulder with our brand partners with one goal in mind: find the best possible solution and strategy to achieve our partners’ ecommerce goals. Our goal with any partnership remains the same: become an extension of their internal team; think and act everyday as though our partners’ business was our own — because ultimately, we “win” only when our partners win.

So what’s next?

Macarta is evolving once more. 2022 will bring with it continued global expansion, new service offerings, and management of more marketplaces. With the amazing team and leaders we have in place across the globe, we have never been more excited about the future than we are today. There will be some uphill ecommerce battles ahead, but we welcome the challenge with open arms. Here’s to a great 2022 and beyond!
