Human Resources Manager

The Human Resources Manager will work with the Executive Team to support people operations, oversee company policies and drive talent performance.

Role will be primarily responsible for the following policies and programs: Benefit and Compensation Administration, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), Leave of Absence, Employees Relations, Employee Resource Groups, Performance Evaluations, and Culture Surveys. Additionally, the HR Manager will have an active role in the recruitment and hiring process, assist with administrative duties, and be a resource for Macarta’s US team.

The HR Manager will report to Macarta’s President & Chief Strategy Officer and participate in Executive Team meetings as it relates to team health, culture, conflict resolution, policy development and implementation.

Position Responsibilities

People Operations (70%)

  • Lead efforts to positively impact the employee experience and lifecycle; including new hire onboarding, performance management, learning and development, employee engagement & retention, compensation, benefits, and rewards.
  • Own HR communications to keep employees informed and engaged
  • Oversee Macarta’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) program
  • Design and lead Macarta’s Internship & Mentorship Programs across Macarta Global Teams
  • Develop Employee of the Month program, incentive, awards & create mechanism for employees to nominate colleagues to be considered
  • Cultivate Employee Resources Groups to engage internally with Macarta teams and externally with community groups
  • Support compensation to include:
    • Maintain up to date knowledge of state and federal wage requirements
    • Analyze employee compensation as it relates to industry standards, then develop & maintain salary ranges
    • Track progress of the Management By Objectives Bonus (MBO) Program for all employees, and manage bonus tracking / annual pay-out
  • Leave of Absence & Employee Relations Administration:
    • Act as the main point of contact for all employee leave of absences (i.e. Parental Leave, Medical Leave, Workers’ Compensation, etc.), maintaining documentation, and engaging in the interactive process throughout.
    • Maintain up to date knowledge of leave laws and sick time (i.e. FMLAI, HFWA, domestic leave abuse, etc.)
    • Oversee & document all requests for Reasonable Accommodation
  • Performance Management tasks to include:
    • Work with department leaders to establish career-path plans for employees, by constructing future-role job descriptions and identifying key skills required for any employee to illustrate in order to be considered for raise/promotion
    • Participate in meetings with employees and their respective manager regarding any disciplinary actions, warnings or terminations
    • Document and record performance and/or behavioral “write-ups”
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations to proactively identify performance-related deficiencies, and work with management to implement solutions

Policy Development & Implementation (20%)

  • Work with Macarta Benefits Provider (Insperity) to understand, maximize and implement available training programs
  • Work with Macarta Executive Team to identify, craft and communicate company policies across a wide range of topics
  • Update & maintain Macarta Employee Handbook
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Administrative Duties (10%)

  • Track employee milestones (birthdays / anniversaries / other) and communicate to wider team
  • Assist in travel logistics and manage employee expenses / reimbursements for work-travel
  • Track all PTO requests & approvals; ensure all departments have employee-coverage during PTO days
  • Assist in the hiring process by reviewing resumes, setting & conducting introductory interviews via Zoom, advising hiring manager to most-qualified candidates within salary budget. Craft and deliver offer-letters to candidates Macarta wishes to hire, participate in any negotiations with prospective employees regarding salary, benefits etc.
  • Manage Macarta Internship Program from identification, onboarding, evaluation, off-boarding
  • Identify best practices for accountability and appropriate reporting metrics that support company wide goals and objectives and track employee engagement and performance
  • Implement time-tracking solution and ensure employees are following protocol
  • Craft New Employee Orientation plan, organize training materials & 1st month schedule for new employees
  • Create and distribute employee engagement and culture surveys
  • Maintain and communicate Macarta Office Closures/Holiday schedules

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years relevant HR experience required
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations (both federal and Colorado state)
  • SHRM-CP highly desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field desired
  • Prior experience in retail media, e-commerce, digital marketing or related field preferred

COMPENSATION

Salary: $85,000 – $95,000 per year
Annual Bonus: TBD
Commission: 10% of new business generated by referring employee
Pay Schedule: Bi-Monthly
